Green Motion, a pioneer in charging technology since 2009, is also a forerunner of the business model for the financing of evpass charging infrastructure in Switzerland. Launched in June 2016, evpass is the largest public network in Switzerland, and currently counts 1337 charging points spread over 429 municipalities. Since May 2018 the evpass network is managed by evpass SA.
evpass SA offers to equip your car parks at its own expense and within a short time span; our state-of-the-art public charging stations are online and will be integrated in the evpass network.
Under a concession contract you make your car parks available to evpass SA for a period of time proportional to evpass SA’s investment, generally 5 to 10 years. evpass SA then equips the car parks with the suitable charging station. During the concession term, evpass SA will further develop the infrastructure both in size and functionality, in line with its use and the market requirements.
In order to finance your public charging stations, evpass SA gives you the choice between two business models:
evpass SA will bear all the expenses incurred by the project: charging stations, operation and maintenance of the infrastructure, electric power consumption, connection work, marking of the car parks, and taxes. evpass SA benefits from the entire revenue generated by the usage of the charging stations.
evpass SA and the partner will split the costs incurred by the project. evpass SA finances the charging stations, operation and maintenance. The partner pays for the electric power consumption, connection work, marking of the car parks, and taxes. The revenue generated by the usage of the charging stations is shared by the partner and evpass SA.
